Juneteenth Celebration Woodstock is the first Woodstock Community-led holiday of Juneteenth, cosponsored by The Woodstock Library and The Golden Notebook. It reflects the importance of diversity and inclusivity within our community. It is a celebration--a moment when we collectively come together, ground ourselves in reflection, and embrace the spirit of unity, freedom, and joy.

Join your neighbors on the Library Lawn from 4–6 PM for a Juneteenth community gathering celebrating the tradition of shoebox suppers! Bring a blanket, and your picnic basket or decorated shoebox filled with a delicious meal to enjoy with your neighbors.
Event Highlights:
A Cornbread Cake Walk, where participants can win tasty prizes.
A Soul Food Cook-off featuring the best potato salad, beans, and cornbread—who will take home the title?
A Shoebox Decoration Contest honoring the tradition of shoebox lunches in African American history. Prizes will be awarded for the most original and beautifully decorated boxes!
Live Music to Close the Evening, featuring soulful stylings from the The Woodstock Community Chorus and a solo performance by Pastor Lee Stowe.
Meet your neighbors, share great food, and enjoy a warm evening of fellowship. Bring your delicious supper and participate in an informal community potluck.
