Leisurely after-church walks
Depart from the front porch 20 minutes after the end of the service, walk to one of the beautiful cemeteries nearby, and return to church within an hour. Everyone is welcome! Please see Bill Rhoads or Nicole Arana with any questions.
Our Women’s Group, which is starting its third year, embraces a program of learning, sharing, outreach and fellowship. We meet monthly, usually the second Saturday, gathering at 10:30am in the church parlor.
We learned of opportunities to reach out to incarcerated women through the Interfaith Prison Partnership. We contributed articles for Christmas gifts on one occasion (thirty one bags) and on another occasion filled canvas bags with articles such as toiletries, light blanket, note pad and pens and an encouraging hand written note. These women being released from prison often to go to a homeless shelter and have nothing. Being able to help in this very practical way means a lot.
Some of the activities which we have enjoyed include a field trip to Kraus’s chocolates , an opportunity to make our own candles led by Candlestock, a trip to the Buddhist Monastery and a visit to the Cartskill Animal Sanctuary.
We have learned of the history of our church from Bill Rhoads and had fun singing with Krista at the piano. We celebrate February 14 with a Galentine Party and potluck. We have experienced the joy of sharing our thoughts and concerns with other women who listen with acceptance and care.
To top it off we just have a lot of fun together and we always welcome newcomers.
